Part of the recovery process from domestic violence, sexual assault and/or human trafficking is to reengage and have fun! Community building, laughter and relaxation is healing.
Do you have a skill you would like to share with our Safe House clients? Here are some ideas and what other volunteers have provided:

- Ukulele lessons
- Group art time and projects
- Gardening
- Board games
- Tai Chi

REPORTS TO: Safe House Supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator
POSITION OVERVIEW: Provide fun and engaging activities for our Safe House clients and/or their children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have California state-certified Crisis Intervention Training certification
- Must pass agency Live Scan.
- Must be over 18 years old.
- Submit volunteer hours on your Stand Together Volunteer Hub resume.
- Are not a current Stand Up Placer client or have received SUP services within one year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with Safe House Supervisor and/or Safe House staff to discuss what fun activity you would like to provide.
- Add your Fun Time hours to your volunteer profile after each visit.
- If you need to cancel your shift, please notify the Volunteer Coordinator at least 24 hours in advance.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Must embrace principles of trauma informed care and commit to on-going personal growth.
- Compassion and understanding for people in crisis.
- Communicate effectively and without judgement abiding by agency confidentiality policy.
- Possess emotional maturity and stability and exercise appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational and critical thinking skills to problem-solve effectively.
YOUR VOLUNTEER IMPACT: For every hour you volunteer, we receive $24/per hour in grant funding match. This is very significant and helps us in meeting our grant requirements. Your time also helps our hard-working staff advocates tremendously and brightens the day for our Safe House clients.
